A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF FEMINIST LITERATURE AND ITS ROLE IN SHAPING PERCEPTIONS OF INFIDELITY AND SINGLE MOTHERHOOD: A REVIEW OF 50 PUBLISHED JOURNALS

GENDER AND FEMINIST STUDIES
Chapter One Chapters
NGN 7000

Background of the Study

Feminist literature has long been a platform for discussing gender relations, women’s rights, and family structures. Over time, feminist scholars have critiqued traditional gender norms and examined how power dynamics in relationships contribute to issues like infidelity and single motherhood. Feminist ideologies often advocate for women’s autonomy and independence, suggesting that women should not feel bound by traditional expectations of marriage or motherhood. These perspectives can influence how infidelity and single motherhood are perceived within society, either as personal failures or as empowered choices for women seeking to live life on their own terms.

This study will provide a critical analysis of feminist literature and its role in shaping societal perceptions of infidelity and single motherhood. By reviewing 50 published journals, the research will explore how feminist thought on marriage, gender roles, and autonomy has contributed to the evolving understanding of infidelity and single motherhood.
